Original Flight Gear Bag

This is the classic bag that started it all. This modern version of the Original Flight Gear bag is modeled after our very first bag from over 30 years ago. This design is the largest in the Flight Gear line, and has plenty of room for gear as well as a change of clothes. Perfect for the pilot who has more to carry, or needs extra space to tuck in last minute gear for an overnight trip.

An extra large headset pocket is on the end of the Original Flight Gear Bag, and is large enough to fit most aviation headsets—even with a case. The outside of the headset pocket has a small, flat pocket for storing a fuel tester or flashlight. The back of the bag has a pass-thru slot for slipping the bag over the handles rolling luggage.

The opposite side of the bag features two custom designed pockets for important pilot gear: an aviation radio and a portable weather receiver. The transceiver pocket has an hourglass-shaped flap, allowing you to keep the antenna on your radio. When not in use, the antenna can be stowed in a special sleeve on the inside the transceiver pocket. The second pocket is padded and sized for storing an ADS-B receiver or small GPS. 

An organizer pocket on the front of the bag is great for pens, business cards, logbooks, and more. An integrated key clip helps to keep your keys from getting lost and a zipper pocket keeps important $100 hotdog menus safely stowed. This front pocket has provisions (known as an embroidery window) for personalizing your bag with optional embroidery. 

The massive main compartment is the focal point for this bag. A padded iPad pocket allows quick access to your most important accessory. Two pockets on the sidewalls keep all your charging cables organized. The top flap closes with dual, heavy-duty #10 zippers, and a padded carry handle is sure to stand up to the rigors of flight training. 

A unique Gear Mod wall is found at the back of the main pocket. This wall was specifically designed with a soft, velvet-like material. This is perfect for attaching Gear Mods, independent pockets that attach with hook and loop fasteners and make it easy to further customize your Flight Gear bag. Need an extra pocket for a backup battery? There’s a Gear Mod for that. 

The small details are where this bag really shines. Thick plastic hardware allows the bag to be sturdy, yet lightweight. The unique crosshatch fabric is ripstop and moisture resistant. While you can’t go deep sea diving with it, you can run from the plane to the FBO in the rain. Small loops are found underneath the carrying handle and are perfect for hanging sunglasses or attaching gear with carabiners. The high visibility interior keeps small items from getting lost in the dark corners of your bag.
